El Festival de Teatro de 10 Minutos en el Teatro FRIDA KAHLO se organizó para dar a escritores principiantes la oportunidad de presentar sus obras. El festival permite a los participantes la oportunidad de expresar y superar sus habilidades artísticas y mejorar su trabajo.

10 Minute Play Festival

Guidelines
The FRIDA KAHLO Theater 10- Minute Play Festival has been organized to give emerging writers the opportunity to perform their work. The festival allows participants opportunities to express and challenge their artistic abilities, and hone their skills.

Rules and Regulations
•The 10- Minute Play Festival is open to any Latino/Latina writer or any writer writing... about Latino issues. Play must be 10 minutes or less.
•Participants will not be required to pay an entry fee.
•Participants will have access to rehearsals at the FRIDA KAHLO Theater and up to 3 days for performances.
•Plays could be in English, Spanish or Spanglish.
•Performance must be memorized and rehearsed.
•Participants will provide their own props and costumes.
•Participants will provide their own actors, director and designers.
•All plays should adhere to the same set and lighting design. There will be no light changes of any kind, neither shound effects. The only sound allowed would a transitional music before the piece starts.
•Performances will be June 25, 26, 27 and 28, 2015 at the FRIDA KAHLO Theater.
DEADLINE TO APPLY: April 15, 2015.
•The Plays line-up will be chosen and scheduled by our Artistic Director.
•Rehearsal schedules will be determined by the FRIDA KAHLO Theater staff.
•General furnishing, lighting, and a sound system will be supplied by the festival. However, these aspects may be limited. Any other aspects (music, costumes, make-up, props…etc.) will be the responsibility of the participants, the directors, and actors.
•Each “production” group will have at least 45 minutes in the performance area.
At the end of the Festival a round table formed by actors, writers and producers will discuss the productions. This session shall be open to the audience.
